The Diocesan School for Christian Studies

The Diocesan School for Christian Studies, based on the campus of St. Mark's School in Ft. Lauderdale, has a dual purpose: Its Core Curriculum prepares candidates for ordination to the diaconate in the areas of church history, theology, homiletics, liturgics and a variety of ministry courses; but the school's course offerings are also a rich resource for all laypersons who seek a broader understanding of the faith, as well as training for development as leaders in ministry.

The Diocesan School was founded as a reflection of the church's focus on "mutual ministry"—the responsibility of all baptized persons to "represent Christ and His Church" in all that we do. Classes provide an opportunity for the study, prayer and formation all Christians need for the spiritual growth and knowledge of the faith that will equip them to be more effective ministers in whatever work they are called to do.
